We are seeking a Bookkeeper and Business Support Assistant for our Hertford branch to support the Office Manager and Customer Service Department, covering accounting, administrative, and operational HR and customer service activities.

 

Responsibilities

 

1. Accounting

  • Assist the Office Manager with general bookkeeping tasks, including payables and receivables, billing processes, payments, and bank/account reconciliations.
  • Prepare Month-End and Year-End financial reports.

2. HR Administration

  • Calculate work hours, overtime, and expense reimbursements for the UK team.
  • Manage job-related timesheets.

3. Customer Service Support

Assist the Service Manager with:

  • Preparing quotes in SAGE (Salesforce knowledge is a plus).
  • Issuing Sales Order Confirmations for Customer Service.
  • Facilitating internal communication, policies, and reporting with departments in Italy.

4. Spare Parts Management

  • Assist customers in identifying required spare parts.
  • Coordinate with technical and purchasing departments in Italy for clarifications.
  • Manage the end-to-end process, including quotations, sales order entry, order confirmations, and delivery timelines.
  • Oversee stock receipt and deliveries.
  • Handle customs procedures and duties for imports.

 

Requirements
 

  • Diploma in Business Administration & Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Accountant, Financial Specialist, or Bookkeeper.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with accounting software (SAGE); knowledge of SAP is a plus.

 

Other Requirements
 

  • Permanent right to work in the UK.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); Italian language skills are a plus.
  • Valid driver's licence and car owner.
